Student Highlight Template - TRIO
For TRIO, WashU's Student Support Service Program, I built Canva templates for student quotes, allowing the department to easily swap photos, quotes, and names. I designed multiple templates using the three main brand colors for a consistent grid view aesthetic and followed accessibility standards and WashU brand guidelines, incorporating the shield shape as the photo frame and using simple layouts.
University Center TV Directory Slides
Tasked to design 3 directory slides to run on the University Center TVs, I worked within the brand guidelines to create informational, yet playful designs to tell people where important offices are in the building. With the only constraints for the project being that it must include the floor number and destination list, I enjoyed creating a cohesive set of directory slides that included a strong use of typographic hierarchy, as well as a variety of WashU brand colors.
Event Flyers and Supporting Graphics
Most of my work in the Student Affairs Marketing and Communications Office involves designing flyers, social media posts, and TV slides for events. I start by gathering inspiration, sketching ideas, and then refining them in Adobe software. For these designs, I often focused on highlighting the event titles in order to grab student attention, balancing fun visuals with clear communication to encourage attendance.
Campus Photography
These photos were part of an assignment to capture the vibrant atmosphere of a fall Friday afternoon at WashU using DSLR photography. As the leaves changed, I snapped photos of students studying outside, enjoying time with friends, or appreciating the weather on their walk back from class. Through these candid moments, I captured students in a variety of settings—from quietly studying under the changing leaves to engaging in fun group conversations on the quad. Between a mix of wide shots and close-ups, I worked with the afternoon light to highlight the pops of fall colors and the beauty of our campus.
